Alana Kessler MS, RDN

I hit rock bottom in 2006, at 25 years old after a 9 year battle with compulsive bingeing and purging.

My life was in a major transition. I had quit my job as a hospital dietitian, moved out of my one-bedroom apartment in NYC ( rent controlled mind you!) , left my community of origin, and pivoted my career to focus more on mindfulness and holistic healing methods.

Ironically, I was more triggered than ever with the lack of structure in my life, and my codependency with food became all consuming, leading to low self esteem, and massive weight fluctuations.

After spending years healing my relationship with food, balancing my energetic identity and growing my self worth, I have since dedicated myself to creating tools, implementing strategies and guiding others to build the grounding, safety and meaning they seek from within, rather than turning to food and eating.

And the best part? Food and eating can become a joyful enhancing life experience, rather than a guilt ridden obsessive life affirming one. All you need is the willingness to dig deep, and the commitment to heal.
